YUL is 50NM closer to DCA than ATL.

 

Of course, one usually does not have to go through customs to/from ATL, but that may only be a minor issue.

Well if you go through Canadian Customs there is always the possibility of having to submit to a strip search. I think you can pick your choice of the one performing the search from a catalogue they have available :-)

I meant to respond sooner, but life keeps getting in the way. Places I have visited while traveling within a days drive of DC include:

 

Philadelphia, PA (~3 hrs driving or take the train)

Key West - Only has the dancers on Friday nights. Not a high-end place by any means - I kid you not, but they serve fried chicken. As I recall, the smoke was awful. underwear/g-string dancers mainly walk around to people at the bar (not on the bar).

Shampoo - Friday nights - higher caliber place.

 

Pittsburgh, PA (~4 hrs driving)

Lucky's Tavern - a real dive. nude on the bar. smoke is awful.

The Link - outside of Pittsburgh in the boondocks - check the calendar first. smoke, smoke, smoke.

Charlotte, NC (~6 hrs driving)

Chasers - plenty of info in the forum. g-string/underwear on the bar. Smoke is thick.

Pulse - pretty sure it is back to female strip club, but it was a little nicer than Chasers.

 

Columbia, SC (~7.5 hrs driving)

PT's 1109 - maybe 3 dancers a night on weekend, underwear on the bar

 

Atlanta, GA (~10 hrs driving)

Key West has changed their tune; they have taken out the Fried Chicken outlet. Apparantly, in their infinite wisdom they thought it was attractive to African Americn clients. I was coming out of the parking lot behind the place (on daytime business) and said to my sales engineer "oh, Key West got rid of the chicken" and a cute black kid that was next to us said "I hated the place because you always came out smelling like fried chicen" hmm. Another flawed business concept!

I only wish that those clubs had go-go dancers on Saturday night too.

Hope is still alive in DC. We continue to hear rumors that Secrets/Ziegfelds will reopen in South West Washington, on Pier 9, in the near future.
