Obviously, when I meet a new escort, I pay his fee in cash, but for repeat appointments with trusted, well-reviewed escorts, I would like to get away from the green. I have a big fun weekend coming up with great escorts on the menu, and it's the first time I have really thought that I would prefer not to carry so much cash to take care of the fees; I am open to paying these guys by another method.

How common are electronic payments, such as credit cards, paypal, electronic bank transfers, etc? Do clients and/or escorts fear the trail of electronic transactions? I haven't asked a specific escort about his policy on this; I am just interested to hear what my fellow Hoovillains have to say.

electronic bank transfers, etc?

I love emailing money (Electronic Fund Transfer - EFT). Your bank (and his bank) needs to allow it. I believe it is very discrete. I can use my regular email alias, and it doesn't show me any of his personal info ('cept his email addy). Costs me $1.50, but it's worth it...I HATE writing cheques.

My 2 cents (plus $4.50 service fees, not including services charges from your financial institution).

Other Than Cash

US Postal Money Orders in denominations of your choice work well. Leave them blank and let the guy print his real name (or you can) and address on them. He can deposit these to his bank account, when endorsed. Purchases at one time exceeding $3000 require completing a postal form - they want to make sure you're not laundering money. And ... each one has a separate receipt in case of loss or theft. The fees/check are minimal. It's worked well for me.

The only issue with paypal is that the person paying can reverse the charge, or at least at one time they could. I sold something on ebay a few yrs back, they claimed to have never received it and reversed the charge. Not sure if that is still allowed or not. I would have an issue with a banks money order if it is a bank that I have never heard of. If it is one of two banks I use that might be ok since I believe I can verify the money order is real. Course when this was done the client was paying for services ahead of time. We both knew each other and comfortable with the situation to do so.

I use paypal regularly with regular clients and it works great, especially for overnight/weekend appointments when a client doesn't want to carry alot of cash.

The guy may have to post a bond for twice the amount but a client can stop payment on even a bank money order or check. Moreover your bank can give you a hard time on the availability of funds if it doesn't know the issuing bank and it can take days for your bank to collect from the issuing bank and give you value for the funds. I'd stick with the good ol' postal money orders if you don't trust PayPal.

Beware of Bank Checks

I've been trying to sell something on Craigslist, and have been hit three times by the same scammers wanting to send me a cashier's check. On the third try, they offerred to give me $50 more than my listed price, if I removed the ad right away. I emailed Craigslist and was told that there are a lot of bad cashier's checks going around. Apparently, this is a common scam hitting sellers on Craigslist.

Here's the way the scam works. The buyer sends you the check. The check clears and then they pick up the goods. Sounds fine, right? Wrong. For some reason, it can take the bank up to two weeks after clearing the check to determine that the cashier's check is fraudulent. Meanwhile, the buyers have disappeared. And guess who is held liable for the amount of the check? Right, you are.

I have no idea why the bank can't verify it before clearing. I'm just stating what Craigslist Customer Service told me. In fact, in the For Sale section, Craigslist posts a warning to beware of cashier checks and money orders.

I would still stick with Paypal in lieu of cash.

Whiz I forgot about the bank holding funds thing. But I think that the dollar amount might vary. Also they usually do that for checks and maybe even money orders.

I have only paid with cash so far. Would have no problem using a credit

card if the escort took them. To get cash, I like using my credit union's

ATM which usually is stocked with new crisp bills. Only problem is I can't

take more than $500 out per day from an ATM due to my specific account.

For larger amounts, I make a few extra stops at the ATM before a traveling

escort comes to visit.

Not to put a damper on commerce but I have had every form of payment known to man have a problem. Obviously, checks can be unfunded or held. Bank checks and cashier's checks can be held with a bond depending upon the exact state law. Cash can be counterfeit. I have even had a wire transfer returned to sender apparently at sender's request but without my approval or permission. I still don't know how that happened.

The only real solution is for the parties involved to know each other and to some extent trust, if not each other, the transaction. In other words, did this transaction make sense for all parties and did they give and receive what was bargained for? I understand that statement is idealistic to a degree but start somewhere.

Oh, both parties wish to remain anonymous? Cash talks and walks.

Best regards,

KMEM

I have the same problem with cash . I do not want to travel across country with 3K or more in cash . When I saw Zeb Atlas in Las vegas I sent him a bank check ahead of time . He trusted me and I trusted him . I was traveling for a few days to West Texas and was afraid something would happen to the cash . I feel that on a longer escort "date" such as a vacation that I would know the escort well enough to write a check . I would not invite someone that I had not entertained here for a weekend at least prior to an extended appointment .

ZEB on SALE!

Yes Zeb can be trusted with anything !!!! He makes too much money to do anything dishonest !! He is so expensive ! Do you think he will ever put himself "On Sale " ?:D

Ya know there aren't too many guys in ZEBS League Physically or Mentally ;)

The "250 an Hour Category" is now even full of NEWBIE'S who think they are worth that?

So I'm guessing he will remain in his "Own Category" at his own Rates and go down in the "Working Guy History Book" as just that! ;)

The main thing I don't like about PayPal is that they have monthly withdraw limits and I'm pretty sure they take a % as part of their cut. Depending on the amount transfered to the PayPal network, that fee can be very small or large. While it's not my first choice, I still offer it up as a payment method though cash is preferred and Money Orders are also quite popular.

Checks over a certain limit are subject to a hold until funds are verified and secured from the originating account. The amount varies from bank to bank but the typical 1k check will be held till verified. As for Money Orders, once those are deposited they are instant and will clear that night (most banks clear them same day deposit) because they're guaranteed funds and paid in full at time of purchase. Also, since they're entered as checks, they also are subjected to less scrutiny compared to cash entered into an account.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEARS of banking experience in my past.

Whiz I forgot about the bank holding funds thing. But I think that the dollar amount might vary. Also they usually do that for checks and maybe even money orders.

Good question. That's always an option but the bank that you use will register the transaction to your account which is then tied to the money order certificate number which then can be traced back to the depositing account. If you don't mind all that information being tied and associated, then there is no issue. Purchasing the money order at any grocery store and many gas stations under the 3k limit makes no paper trail or linkage from one party to another.

What about money orders from your bank? No postal forms to fill out.
