Another Wait Is Over!

Washington, DC - Since the day the new Secrets opened, people have been asking for the return of our Amateur Dancer Contest. This popular event is finally back on Wednesday, June 10!

 

It will be a festive, fun-filled evening where DC will have a chance to review the city's newest talent and prospective Secrets dancers. There is nothing small about this competition, starting with the prizes.

 

First Prize will be $500! Second prize will be the chance to dance at Secrets for a weekend. Third Prize will be a chance to dance at Secrets on a Friday night. All contestants will be evaluated by management for potential regular dancer positions. What a great way to audition!

 

The contest will be hosted by Ziegfeld's own Destiny B. Childs (a night's entertainment all in itself!)

 

The Contest

 

Here's how it works: Contestants can sign up between 10:00 and 10:45 at the main bar.

 

Contest begins at 11:00. Each contestant will dance by himself for a few minutes, then all contestants will dance as a group on the big stage for several minutes. The vote will be taken based on audience applause with judges stationed throughout the room evaluating that applause. (Don't be surprised if you are asked to be an applause judge!) The group will be cut down to six, then three, then one winner.

So... if you, or anyone you know, wants to have the experience of a lifetime, just show up Wednesday around 10:00 and sign up! You can dance for the money, the fun, or the challenge. It will be a memorable night! And don't forget, as Will Rogers said, "We can't all be heroes. Some of us have to stand on the curb and clap as they go by." That might be you. See you Wednesday!
