I went to the new Secrets for the first time this past weekend, and I have mixed feelings about it. I was there on Saturday, July 3rd.

 

There were 7-10 dancers on stage at any given time. The dancers were really hot - much more uniformly sexy than I ever remember seeing at the old location. There was one guy (I didn't get his name) who had the biggest cock I've ever seen in person - just enormous! There was a range of types represented - twinks, muscle men, blacks, Latinos, hairy, smooth. All the dancers I spoke to were friendly and approachable.

 

However, the club is really strict about everyone following the rules - no touching below the belt or above the knees. That means there are none of the old opportunities for a quick squeeze. It reminded me a little of my worst experiences at Wet before it closed - all those sexy men dancing naked in front of me, and nothing I can do about it. They even have the same sort of monitors Wet used to have - security guys rushing up to keep the customers and dancers from going too far (what a terrible job that would be!). I had a good time with an Irish guy who seemed the most likely to bend the rules, but sure enough, the monitor broke it up before it went as far as I'd hoped.

 

I understand that the club is being watched really closely and they have to be careful. But

it made for a much less entertaining night than I'd hoped, and meant that I tipped a lot less than I did at the old location.

 

On the other hand, I had fun the next night at Omega, where they had dancers, but not naked ones. There was a monitor there, too, who kept things clean early on. But as I'd hoped, things got more interesting later. It was still pretty mild, and not all of the dancers were as sexy as the crew at Secrets, but some of the guys were friendly and accommodating, and more accommodating the later it got. I had a much better time there than at Secrets.

 

Omega used to have sort of back room upstairs, where they showed porno movies and people fooled around. They still show porn, but there's a pool table in that room now. Shame.

I've not visited since they reopened but have fond memories of the old days. The week you visited was just after they had been shut down due to violations of the ABC rules. Seems to me this was a set up by the DC government in many respects. From what I have read, the Attorney General appointed by Mayor Fenty came down hard on them unlike the previous Williams Administration.

One more thing

 

There seems to be a rule that all the bartenders in the stripper area have to work with their shirts off. That's good for some, but very bad for others. Perhaps a policy that *could* be reconsidered, given the many that cannot.
