Any current information about clubs or bars in Manhattan a guy can go to would be very much appreciated. Finding this out isn't as easy on the internet as one would think. And of course, you guys can give the best opinions and thats priceless. Thanks. Oh, and if you want to add any bars that a distinguished older guy can go to meet someone much younger, even better. Have a good long weekend everyone.

A few suggestions...

Patrick, Perhaps some of these links might get you started.

1. Splash Bar: most popular gay bar in NYC: http://www.splashbar.com/

2. Boxers: new gay bar getting good reviews: http://www.boxersnyc.com/

3. Townhouse: more refined and attracts the older crowd: http://www.townhouseny.com/

4. Posh: active bar in Hell's Kitchen: http://www.poshbarnyc.com/

5. Therapy: Very relaxed atmosphere and good crowd http://www.therapy-nyc.com/

6. Urge: has dancers around 11pm, active bar, near Cock Bar. http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/12036275/new_york_ny/the_urge_lounge.html

I've been to all and have had a good time at each. Whether or not you can pick up a younger guy is up to you but you'll see them there... Many more gay bars in NYC. I'm sure some NY members will have their favorites to list.

Good luck,

Coop

Let me add my usual word for The Web: http://www.thewebnewyork.com/

Bar with all-twink dancers, open every night. Used to be heavily Asian dancers; now more Latinos and some gorgeous black kids into the mix. Dancing on floor-level light boxes. $1 tips get you a fair distance with the dancers; $20 lap dances can be quite good value indeed. :)

Besides the dancers, I've also met a couple of patrons there who were half my age with whom I had some nice times off-premises.

Scene gets going around 10:30 pm or so. Most active on Fridays and Saturdays, followed by Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Lots more to choose from...

Out to Dan and Happy.... Glad to be of some help. If there is a specific activity you are looking for in NYC just ask. There are a lot of gay bars and dance clubs in NYC but if I know what you're looking for it will help in my suggestions... Who knows, you might even enjoy Carnival: http://carnivalnyc.com/nightlife/

Sorry to report but there are no hustler bars left in NYC, however, you certainly can meet some young men at any of the places mentioned above. Both Adam Smith and I have had much success in the clubs/bars we attend.

Obviously, it's not necessary to mention the NYC strip clubs :) they are well reviewed on this site.

Keep us posted on your next visit.

I second Cooper's suggestions of Splash and Boxers. Both are very large and have a large pool to choose from

I'd add Gym http://www.gymsportsbar.com/nyhome.html -- it pulls many of our gay sports teams in NYC

And while Urge is dingy and rarely has attractive clientele, the hot g-stringed dancers who let you grope for a buck are worth the visit

(Some may even be for sale, although I don't know personally)

I'll have to give it a shot...

Thanks MidWestStudent...This is a new one to me. I'll have to check it out... And, to answer your question about URGE, it's a YES you can! Unfortunately for me, the guy I met didn't speak any English and I didn't want to take a chance. Next time I'll bring along my Rosetta Stone! :D
