I was one who braved the rain and checked out LeBoyz - saw Christopher but I left early and most likely missed (StarMan).

 

Here comes the review:

 

BACKGROUND - been to Gaitey once or twice (back when I was a teenager). Never visited Club 20 or Adonis in Bklyn. LeBoyz is my first of the new crop of offerings now available to NYC so I can't compare it to the others. I will be serving up some PROS and CONS with the intent of keeping these businesses thriving for years and years to come.

 

PROS:

- Love the place. The organizers picked a great location (near Port Authority) that is convenient to get to. THey did a great job setting up the place - dark with comfortable seating. Great bar area - the place is clean and immaculate. I heard somebody mention sleazy on a previous post and I can assure you it is not that!

- Plenty of boys mingling in their underwear when I arrived :-) (This can be seen as a PRO or a CON - more on that later).

- They served FOOD!! These people aim to please - and this alone show that they are there to make their customers happy.

- The boys are not pushy. Some of them were actually quite friendly.

- Great lap dance area with 2 (?) private champagne room to the side.

- Great variety of boys - though lacking some "bears"....... RIGHT?!!

 

CONS with RECOMMENDATION:

- Where is the fantasy and entertainment? - I think this is where being creative will come into play. A strip / burlesque bar is meant to tittilate, it should be EROTIC and get you all hot and bothered. Put some thought into the numbers! From the movie Gypsy - you gotta have a gimmick!!! We are men - but most specifically, we are "GAY" men!! So we have to not only be physically stimulated - but mentally as well. If I walk in and you are already in your underwear, why would I want to see you dance for 10 minutes in the same underwear? Freaking put a fireman/policeman/cowboy/leather outfit on and put on a show!!! We need to be teased - slowly remove that shirt - take off your belt and drag somebody from the audience and tie them up and give them a lapdance they won't forget ON stage. Take oil and rub it all over yourself, or have somebody rub it for you. Bring dumbells and perform an exercise on stage, ask somebody for a spot. bring whipped cream, eat a banana - even a cowboy hat and lasso will do!!! I can come up with a hundred different ideas that will get me excited - DO SOMETHING creative, but most importantly - engage the audience!!! There was a reason most of us stayed on the bar area - there was nothing stimulating or entertaining on stage. The fact that this place is in the Times Square area where people don't hesitate dropping >$100 to be entertained for 2 hours - give us a SHOW for 3 and our entrance fee alone will be worth it!!

- Circulate the boys. In Mexico, a stripper will perform a number and then go around the audience to work for tips - don't matter if a customer is talking to another stripper, the stripper who just performed should have "carte blanche" in approaching that customer to solicit a tip. A lot of regular guys are shy and will NEVER approach a stripper - but when a stripper comes to him, something might spark ;-) Make sure that every stripper gets to engage every customer. There were multiple strippers there that night I wanted to get a lapdance with - but alas, they never came to me and I was too shy to go to them.

- This one goes to the MC. Give us directions, and like the MTA - make frequent announcements!! At no time that whole night did the MC say "Hey guys, for $20, you can have this guy all to yourself for a lapdance". OR "$125 and you are with him in the champagne room". Something..... Challenge the audience, ask them to tip more - make them feel obligated if you have to!! Make a newflash that for the next 10 minutes, all lapdances are for $10!! Or raffle off a few lapdance cards... something.

- Bring the action in the middle!! Instead of having the stage all the way to the side, set it up so it is in the MIDDLE of the room. In fact, have that existing stage and bring that round podium and set it in front of the bar so the performer can go back and forth. Also, the whole place should be considered a stage. Nothing better than an interactive performance. (I think one stripper did that and engaged some audience, that was actually quite hot).

- Leave the audience wanting more (I can't emphasize this enough). Half naked guys in their underwear is your draw, make sure it's not handed out for free. What do I mean by that? Don't have them parading around in their underwear. Put them in white robes while mingling around. This will keep your customers wondering what is underneath those robes. THis is all part of the mental game of going to a strip joint - is to actually see somebody strip. Seeing a guy in his underwear from the get-go is SOOOO anti-climactic, and to be honest, kinda boring. Isn't it also kinda hot if they walk around soliciting for tips and they open their robe and we slip in a dollar or $5 while cupping a feel? oh yeah, HOT right?!!! And it must be awkward for the strippers to have a conversation while in their underwear. As a matter of fact, y'all should have robes with LeBoyz printed on the back - or beaded in miniture paillettes!!

 

.....and last but not the least.

 

- NO BEARS!!! (I'm sure y'all saw that one coming).

 

In any case, before I ramble on and on with more ideas, I want to wish the guys at LeBoyz good luck!!! Keep going strong!!

Say what ever you want but Brenden/Matt has over a dozen films to his credit now, from major studios like COLT, JET SET, LUCAS. I have never heard of "Christopher" or "StarMan". This seems like just another cheap attack on Club 20 and I for one wish it would stop. No one on this board seems to be entertained or enlightened by the attacks. Just tell us who's appearing and we'll decide where we're going. As many of us have said, there's enough business for everyone. I urge you to stop the petty name calling like some high school girl and stick to business. Thanks for your thorough report. It's obvious that you spent a lot of time composing this reply. You have many interesting ideas about what you'd like to see at male strip clubs. Not sure if you'll find any bear types at these clubs but perhaps going to a NYC bar like Rawhide might be a better choice.

New poster here (longtime viewer and fan). Thanks to Coop and all the posters on this forum for all the info.

 

I went to LeBoys for first time last Wednesday and had similar thoughts as John1 did. It was a nice set up with a very friendly staff. From the front doormen to the guys in the lobby, waiters, and the lineup of guys, all were great and I had a good time. Still, I haven't been to Club 20 or Adonis (more below) yet to compare. Favorite guy was "Alex", whom I later learned is called "Famous Alex" -- not sure what he is famous for, but I could imagine. John1 is right about the stage show, too, there wasn't much point to it, but I didn't go for that anyway, I went for the lap dances. If they had some type of "champaigne room", I would've done that, too, but they didn't make it known that they had such a thing (do they?). I will definitely be back.

 

I liked the experience enough that the very next day I went to the Adonis in Brooklyn. I would tell you what that was like in comparison, but I couldn't find it! I got to the address in Greenpoint, around 10pm Thurs., and saw three buildings: a residence with two names, a "production" studio with blacked out windows and hip-hop posters on the outside, and a tatoo parlor... but no Adonis lounge. No signs, no one outside, no "Adonis" name anywhere. Now, I know someone is going to say that I was supposed to go in one of those buildings and through some secret passage way in the back or something. If so, the Adonis web page needs some more precise instructions/directions. And I'm a New Yorker! Anyway, maybe I'll try again this week.

Hey Irtwo, Im sorry for the mishap last week in attempting to visit Adonis. You were at the right place lol! The Production Lounge is the name of the bar/club that Adonis Lounge is held at weekly on Thursdays.

 

Unfortunately, as we are in Catholic/Polish Brooklyn, we have to be a little under the radar as far as having signs and advertising outside. Once inside though, we have a doorman to greet you and a nice laid back vibe. I hope u can make it tomorrow 3/10. We have a great show planned!

 

Ask for Tim when u get there. Thats me. I run the show and dance as well. Ill give u the grand tour...even of the champagne rooms )
