Atlanta - Swinging Richards & BJs - Smoke

I was in Atlanta over the weekend and went to BJs and Swinging Richards. Both were fun clubs but both were overwhelmed by smoke. What gives? Why don't these clubs ban smoking?

Shame about the smoke at Richard's. Same problem in Miami at Twist. The smoke can ruin a perfectly good evening. In the case of Florida, smoking in clubs is allowed as long as they do not serve food. I don't know what the rules in Georgia are.
