Where have all the creative threads gone?

It should eventually become clear to the board where the drama on this site Really comes from. You just need to look at the events over the last few days to know WHO starts all the shit and

why people subsequently cant have attention focused on OTHER subjects. Looking back you can consistently associate certain members to the past weeks Lunacy. While I wont sit back and tolerate being bashed and have responded at times to them, its a fact NONE of the threads were started by me.... What was the point ? what did it do for the site ? Those that doth protest too much are the ones needing to be kept in check. If you really think about it, without those last threads, the site would have been relatively quiet... Guess that wasnt good enuf for some Trolls?

Sorry BVB - I just wish EVERYONE would stop trading punches, and I let my frustration show. Yes, you have the right to express your opinion - as does JJK. But all that accomplishes in this instance is prolonging the conflict, IMHO. It seems that every time I think it's all dying down, someone revives it.

 

And I think all of this bickering is more harmful to the board than one fairly prolific poster.

I don't live in Pollyannaville, and nor do I want to live there. Purplekow has history here, almost twice as many posts as I have. I sincerely doubt his skin is thin.

 

Furthermore, I have little patience for dumb questions.

 

And finally, I have less patience for members who announce they've been absent and then make a comeback only to complain how unsatisfactory this board is.

In this case, it seems reading comprehension may not be your strong suit and your choice of demeanor is certainly questionable. To assist with your difficulty with a fairly straight forward post, I will explain it in a manner I believe that some who decides that questions are dumb or that people should shut the fuck up will probably understand.

 

First, I mentioned my absence was related to other more pressing things in my life. Even you probably have things that have taken you away from this board, for days maybe even months at a time. One would need to have a grandiose opinion of oneself to think that such a short absence would merit a return with herald horns and flying banners. I have no such opinion, rather I mentioned my absence to explain that I was reviewing several days of post at one time. I mentioned that i found one post of interest but in the past I have found many. I gave an example of a particularly compelling post. There have been many over the years and those are the ones that have me checking this site regularly.

 

It is sad that some set standards for their expectations of this site to be so low as to be negligible. I cannot help but wonder why would anyone bother participating in any activity with expectations that the activity will result in an equivalent to drunken banter at a bar. .

 

i find no shame in asking if there have been any posts of true interest which may have eluded my attention and sadly, that question remains unanswered. Seemingly, the answer that most the the subsequent posters who have at all hinted at a response have suggested, is: "No you did not overlook any posts of real interest."

 

I never mentioned being unhappy and I do think that some of my posts have been creative and possibly beneficial.

 

At any rate, I think that this thread has taken the all to familiar turn to uselessness, so I encourage the moderators to close it down.

Ya know Seek.....I am a little floored here. I think this is the first time anyone ever has said they were sorry here. That really is an amazing thing. It seems so simple, yet when I read your post, I was really moved a little. Thank you for that, and let me say that I completely agree with your analysis of things. Perhaps I should not have posted anything considering what has gone on the last few days. And while I purposefully did not mention names, I guess it was obvious who I was referring to.

 

My intention was not to bring harm to the board...believe that, if nothing else.

To anyone with a large brain (as opposed to a large cock or a desire for one), there's a chasm of difference between a hate agenda/personal attack and a strong opinion. I realize some boys don't know the difference. I really enjoy gay men with strong opinions, even if their opinion differs from mine. This is a primary reason why I enjoy coming here.

 

In my world, offering the critique of "silly" to someone's idea, thought process, or action is NOT a personal attack. You may not enjoy being criticized in any way, and if this "thin skin" describes you, you don't belong on a public forum, especially a forum for escorts and the men who love them.

There were lots of threads on topics that most of us had never seen discussed in print before, like the best ways to prepare to get fucked or the proper etiquette for tipping an escort. Naturally, new posters bring up the same eternal issues, and we old-timers may have simply grown tired of the topics, so of course the threads no longer seem as interesting.

 

Memory plays tricks. The personal battles between posters in the past seemed to be on the scale of Beowulf vs. Grendel, relics of the Heroic Age. The current threads sound to us more like bickering between reality TV characters. However, I suspect a new poster scrolling through the archives might be heard to mutter, "Same old, same old." Lets keep this in perspective and keep in mind that although this site is deducated to escorts and hiring, THE LOUNGE exists for people who also have a life AND interests outside of escorts and hiring (i DO believe there are some of those here) , and some of us DO try to introduce other topics into this section, some of which may be pop culture, some trivial fluff, whatever. These threads do get limited traffic, and if its not your cup of tea, of course you pass over it. There are certainly enuf other Forums here where you can wax poetic on escorts ALL you want. But to constantly discredit topics as boring or useless because they are a departure from Escorting does Daddy and his site a disservice, since I believe his intention was to create an all-inclusive site ? When I read a newspaper, I dont find each and everything posted to be earth shattering and exciting, or even within my realm of interest. And thats when I turn the page...... You also have the option of "introducing" interesting, useful topics to the board. When I see a problem, I try to fix it, not constantly complain about it.

And your comment is how posts often go astray, which I dont think is necessarily a Bad thing either. I'll admit, I am guilty of seemingly always going for a last word. BUT I treat the site as I would a face to face conversation. When speaking to a person, you normally dont just make a staement, and then get up and walk away. There is usually a back and forth, until the topic or the participants are exhausted. Others may have a difference course of behavior here, but I act here as I do in REAL life. I hope this provides at least some food for thought ?
