I had set up a date with him - confirmed it three times once he arrived in New York -- and he disappeared on me.

24 hours AFTER the date was to take place, he sent an e-mail telling me that he a) ran out of credit on his UK (NL? as he is Dutch) phone and so had no access; b) was out in the country with friends and had no access to web (the "country" was here in the NY area); and even though he had my cell numbers and my e-mail, could not find a phone card nor access an internet cafe. So despite his innocent "I am sorry!" I am pissed -- I had gotten a hotel room set up for this (I had asked him for an overnight...) Thank God I was able to borrow a friend's digs, and cancelled the hotel room at the last minute or I'd be out $350 too.

He told me he is already on his way back to London - so as we say in the city, FORGETTABAOUTIT

MscleLovr, I have no idea about him in London, but it seems he may perhaps have been juggling clients or playing Russian roulette with them?

Well over a week ago he posted ads in Rentboy and Rentmen, advertising his (brief) trip to NYC for the weekend (and changed the dates one or two times, but the weekend of 5-9 was somewhat consistent). I contacted him almost as soon as the ads came up, he responded immediately, and plans were made. As mentioned above, I e-mailed him two or three times before he left London so that I could confirm the date and make accomodations as he mentioned he could only do OUT calls.

I sent a text to his London phone on Friday evening, when he should have already landed, and he responded confirming the meeting for Sunday afternoon (and I had mentioned it would be minimally hours perhaps overnight), and made a hotel reservation for Sunday so he could be more comfortable. That Friday confirmation of Sunday afteroon was the last I heard from him, and he had both my e-mail and phone numbers.

His excuse to me after disappearing over 48 hours is lame in this day and age (no more credit on his UK cell phone; blocked calling; out of the city and so no internet access, no phones, no nothing). He also knew I was staying in NYC until Monday afternoon and never even thought of making this up with an hour or two-hour meet then. Just "I am so sorry."

Personally I appreciated his qualities too and the fact that he appears to be Dutch (another plus) but his whole demeanor was way below par - and then he seemed to have recovered his cell phone service (again his UK number, making it expensive for clients here to contact HIM) and internet access as he was "on line" and advertising all day Monday he was "available". Perhaps someone else saw him here and had a more positive outlook.

MscleLovr - all the way up to his strange "disappearance" after he landed Friday and wrote he was heading to a friend's place, he was excellent in communication. I actually worried he was caught in an accident or some other trouble when he suddenly disappeared. My suggestion to him is that if he plans to return to US in the future, he should learn the ins and outs of cheap local phone cards, and perhaps a little bit about the etiquette on cancelling -- had he told me straight out "I am no longer interested," or "I have other plans", I would have been understanding and would have had time to hire someone else. In the end, I had my left hand and a lot of pent up frustration, as others here have also experienced.

Adriano I think you have every right to be upset with the gentleman. I have seen a trend with traveling foreign gentlemen, that I suspect they deliberately over book. A part of me understands the situation, kind of like airlines, they dont want to get caught without all their seats filled. Easier to jerk around a few clients than not be filled. I dont for a minute believe the phone thing and lack of communication. I have seen this before with a couple of gentlemen I have pursued. The date changing drives me nuts because they dont visit where I live so I have to travel in or make arrangements for them to come to me. Is this a good business practice, "oh hell no" but will it stop no. I really dont think foreign gentlemen really care about reviews or what we say here. Most of these guys see at least 5 clients in a day. Now it is not all, gentlemen like Steven Draker and Anton (while he lived in Europe) were and are always professional about their set up, never over book and take care of their clients exceptionally well. Others are here to make some quick cash and get out, the dollar is still relatively cheap so traveling here with a full deck makes perfectly good sense.

Agreed. I had booked a Houston based escort while he was in NYC and a day before the appointment he canceled saying he had a better offer. I rarely book visiting escorts for that very reason.
