Manhunt........ in Argentina/Uruguay

I've been a member of Manhunt for a few years but basically never use it. I can go six months without going in. Anyway, I'm currently in South America (Uruguay/Argentina) and have been trying to use MH as a resource to find guys to hook up with for pay. I find that multiple hot guys who are not advertising escorts seem to be "available" if you make a proposal to them. I had one guy in Uruguay the other day who really wanted to hook up even though he was not an official escort. The fee would have translated to US$50.......which was his starting bid! I probably could have gotten him down on the price if I had wanted to but I would have been embarrassed to even try. Anyway I did not proceed as he would not send a face or cock picture. However the body shots were really nice. My sense is that in Uruguay especially, MH could be a very useful tool as there are very few advertising escorts on other sites. None on RB or RM and only four on GayRomeo....none of whom interested me in the least.

 

One observation on Manhunt in Argentina. I was shocked to see multiple profiles from guys that indicated in their ad that they only wanted to meet other Argentines. One guy said something like (I'm translating & paraphrasing)........"Only Argentines please. We have our own code of behavior and way of handling things. I'm not xenophobic but just want to stick with my own people". Huh? I know many guys have preferences regarding body type, cock size, sexual position, race, hair color, etc......however I've never heard of someone indicating they would not consider someone for a sex hook-up that wasn't from their own country. So I guess if a hot guy from Brazil is pursuing one of these Argentines, he will be brushed aside? Strange. I must have seen 5-6 ads with this type of restriction.

 

Now a question. Having been perusing the profiles for Buenos Aires and Montevideo now for 4-5 days, I note that the there is a core group of guys who's profiles are almost always on (as in they are on-line when I was looking). I would say about 50% of the guys have their profiles on constantly or almost constantly. I'm already getting bored seeing some of the same guys over and over and over. Is this the case with Manhunt generally everywhere??? A core group of members dominate the active profiles and seem to be on constantly. Anyone have any insight into this?

 

Another question. Have the advent of hook-up apps such as Grindr and Scruff reduced the number of people that use Manhunt?

I use adam4adam in the US and have great success percentage-wise approaching young hot guys who are not listed as escorts about if they are interested in generous oldr guys. Police trying to trap prostitutes or their "johns" seems to be mostly a USA past-time with law enforcement. Police in most other civilized countries couldn't be bothered with this sort of thing. I am sure that the last thing an actual rentboy or wannabe rentboy in Argentina would be worried about is if the police are trying to entrap him. That sort of thing doesn't happen outside of the US for the most part.

 

 

As far as who to target when looking for someone to hire off a non-rentboy site, sure there will be guys that are not interested at all. I stay away from guys whose profiles indicate absolutely no-one over say 40 or 50 (and a lot of profiles say that). I just go for the guys that are my type where my judgement is that they might be interested. Might work better in the "developing world" nations as there are more guys needing some extra cash. I saw a few profiles on MH in Uruguay where guys were looking for hookups with others their same age, but that said if you're over 40 or over 50 they are available for money. Again, no worries about police stings in this part of the world, so it seems like a good approach for these guys.

Tú (you singular informal)

Vosotros (you plural informal) only used in Spain, not used at all in the Americas, Philippines, Equatorial Guinea, parts of Oceania etc.

Usted (you singular formal)

Ustedes (you plural formal)

Vos (thou and thee) not recognized by the Royal Academy but in use in Argentina and Uruguay. There have been campaigns to eliminate it, it's a called a danger to the unity of the language.

 

Vuestra merced is no longer in use, the modern way to say is "usted" and "ustedes".
