Sooooo,why is it that all of the "hot topic"threads on this board are nothing but circle jerks with Woodie,Doogie,Ad Rian(axbahia)and some times Tri(when it is a zionist vs. AuntieSemetic subject)These are all just so boring as to be pitiful.

How about some "HOT" hot topics without these nutcases spoiling them.

PS,as far as I can tell Trilingual is NOT a nut case-yet he gets drawn into these threads and gets a little carried away.

I'm not sure what thermometer you use to know when a thread is "hot." In all the time I've been here -- well over three years, now -- it's always been the case that four or five guys post a lot, and most guys post a little. Some guys, of course, post not at all. I check the board once a day, on average, and when there's something of interest, I respond. Sometimes an idea for a thread occurs to me, and I post it. There's no great mystery about it, I think: some people find it easier to chat than others do, and some people would rather say anything at all than nothing at all.

I appreciate not being considered a nut case! I don't especially like getting drawn into those polemics, but I also don't like leaving the kind of propaganda and massive disinformation posted by Auntie Semitic just sitting there unanswered. Evidently some people DO read those threads, and I want to be sure that people who stumble on them and aren't necessarily well-informed on the topic go away thinking that Auntie S is some kind of authority, when in reality he's evidently a paid shill for Hezbollah/Hamas (and I'm not at all sure he isn't spending Palestinian Authority money on high priced escorts he entertains at 5-star Paris hotels and restaurants while the folks he so passionately defends are back in the refugee camps wallowing in misery).

 

It WOULD be nice if we could just keep the board limited to non-political topics like which escort has the biggest dick, who's best in bed, etc.! :9

No one forces you to read threads you don't like. Quite frankly, Woodlawn, that response is beneath someone as articulate as you. Even if we don't always (usually??) agree, I at least have come to respect your intellect.

 

IMHO, you either need to chill out or grow some extra skin.

 

Anyone here who dishes it out like you do, often savagely (albeit articulately), ought to be able to take it. If not, maybe you should find another Message Board.

The originator of this thread wrote a post which had no purpose other than to single out certain posters here by name, call them "nutcases," and proclaim their discussions to be 'boring' and "pitiful." Woodlawn, being one of the individuals so identified, then answered, and you think HE's the one who "went a bit too far" and "attacked the author instead of the subject"???

 

He was called a "nutcase" and told that he's boring and pathetic by someone who started a thread with no purpose other than to attack certain posters here. If you were on a hunt for inappropriate personal attacks, as seems to be the case, don't you think you ought to have started with the big gentleman who began this exclusively personal thread?

Since Fat Guy started this thread for no other purpose than to make a personal attack on me and several other people, why should I care how he might feel when reading my words? You and ncm should know my policy by now: when discussing issues I will not be the first to use personal insults against another poster; but I will not be a complacent target for the vicious remarks of others and will reply to them in kind when I so choose.

 

As for the "very fat people on this board," I make an effort not to ridicule fat people for being fat. A gay man who is also fat has more than enough problems without that, in my opinion. But when such a person attacks me without provocation of any kind neither he nor you is in any position to complain if I respond harshly.

Did I or anyone else here ever ask you to share your personal characteristics by writing about them here? If not, if you did it entirely at your own initiative, for reasons of your own, why do you talk as if I or others have some sort of duty to do the same thing?
