He is banned? How do you know this? If true, I think it's a shame. Granted he was a little thin skinned and tended to take offense very easily, but he should still be allowed to post IMO. Although I ackowledge it's their right to do as they please, I feel that Hooboy and/or the moderators here are getting to carried away with their censorship. Just my opinion.

I just sent this to Hooboy in email:

---------------------

Keep this in mind the next time you either hear or are about to repeat a rumor!

In ancient Greece (469 - 399 BC), Socrates was well known for his wisdom. One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance who said excitedly, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students?"

"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test."

"Triple filter?"

"That's right," Socrates continued "Before you talk to me about my student, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say... The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"

"No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and ..."

"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"

"No, on the contrary ..."

"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left: the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?"

"No, not really."

"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?"

This is the reason Socrates was a great philosopher and held in such high esteem.

It also explains why he never found out that Plato was banging his wife.

---------------------

Nobody who knows is talking. And those talking don't actually know. Draw conclusions accordingly.

As far as I know he has not been banned. Perhaps he is practicing restraint.

So un-circle the wagons and let this this non issue die, okay? Else, all it wil do is start a flame war and we've heard it all already.

Happy holidays everyone.

You're being very unfair in asking this of BoN. If he followed the test you advocate, all of his posts would disappear; his oh-so-renowned "investigations" into the secret conduct of others -- investigations as petty and invasive as they almost univesally inaccurate - would fade away; and we would be tragically deprived of all of the gossip and innuendo he so generously shares with all of us about the hidden identity of posters and the sexual conduct of escorts.

What a great loss that would be. I'm sure if Socrates knew BoN, he would have amended his test so as to allow these great gems to be preserved.

Actually BON it wasn't a question. It was a statement by you.

"Lord knows i try to be here every day, but I miss one little day and Ethan gets banned."

Whatever your source it was not an official one from this site so Deej's story applies.

Not sure I understand. Are you saying that Ethan e-mailed you stating he had been banned?

Seems to me he has way too much time on his hands if he sends out mass e-mails everytime he feels slighted. Glad I'm not on his mailing list!

>Ever thought how your postings might affect your business?

sure i have. the past two months (since i've been back here, i'll point out) have been the 2 most lucrative months i've ever had (except one which included a trip to visit a VERY big fan and a few other trips).

so, i'll keep posting away and telling morons like you how fucking happy i am to hear that YOU won't be hiring me. you see, apparently some guys like to hire boys with opinions who aren't afraid of sharing them. carry on, and keep sending business my way. just stay the fuck away yourself.

RE: Does it really matter?

remember when i mentioned (in another thread) that all of my emails to AOL members were bouncing back to me? well, ncm sent a test email. i got it & replied. of course, my reply bounced back to me. he sent one from a yahoo (i think) account. i replied & he got it. ncm then talked to AOL tech folks, changed some settings, and emailed me again. my reply bounced. eventually it just got silly. he'd send emails saying "get this?" from both AOL & yahoo. the problem never had anything to do with me receiving emails, but rather with my emails to AOL addresses bouncing back. i emailed him at his yahoo account & tried to explain that again. he kept sending them though... all asking if i was getting them. finally, i said "STOP!" i just couldn't deal with that many emails in addition to the others i receive daily. then he pissed himself and said something about thinking he was doing me a favour & not making that mistake again. i told him how pathetic it was to say something like that. then, a day or so later, i told him that he was welcome to stay in touch, but not to send that many emails in one day. i didn't hear anything else from him until he started picking on me here. i guess he got his feelings hurt.
