Well, not only do I buy myself expensive presents for Christmas, and send myself gift cards and fruit baskets in the weeks ahead, I also host a little Christmas Eve Dinner where I gather to celebrate the many kindnesses I've extended to myself throughout the year. No one else is invited, owing to some unfortunate misunderstandings in prior years when my guests misunderstood the meaning of the celebration and thought that they would also be getting presents. Besides, I like to make sure I have plenty of leftovers to enjoy on Christmas Day.

I always start my personal Christmas shopping early, sometimes on Boxing Day itself, to take advantage of special sales and to pick up any little items I forgot to get myself earlier. Then I put them in the closet for next year, so they'll be ready for wrapping and stacking under next year's tree. There's nothing more rewarding, and in keeping with the holiday spirit, than to see the tree surrounded with generous piles of gifts and with my name on every tag and card.

For many years, I used to hide behind the couch hoping to see myself come down the chimney with my big bag of gifts but, sadly, a bad bout of lumbago will keep me from following the tradition this year.

I'll still put out a big plate of my favorite cookies though. http://www.boytoy.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif

This is a nice topic, Steve, thanks for bringing it up.

I used to buy myself a month subscription to a porn site, then spend a busy few weekends at the library downloading and burning cd's. That doesn't appeal to me any more now, so I'm wondering what I should do this year.

I might try some sort of food I usually can't afford (I don't know of any restaurants that I can eat at). I'll know "I'm on a good wicket" if I think of the item, and then my eyes light up in anticipation. Maybe once I figure it out, I'll post it here.

Thanks I just wondered whether I was the only one.

Porn site subscriptions. I thought the likes of xtube and utorrent sent that to its death

I'm staying home at Christmas and I'm going to order my shopping online from horrifically expensive English supermarket Waitrose as another treat. I could never in a million years to afford a weekly shop from there. I am going order some of their finest salmon for the cats and cook it for their Christmas dinner and I'm going to get myself a delicious vegetarian roast from there and some expensive cheeses.

I think you take yourself and your "blog" way too seriously.

Way too much time on your hands, sweetheart.

Contrary to what you have posted in another thread, I don't hate you. You need to relax.

I saw that and was wondering if I had the balls for the large one (Yes). However I find that it's interesting that all three sizes are the same price ;-)

I always buy myself a birthday present and a Christmas present. This year it was a Roku2 for my birthday and a current generation iPad when I have a some extra money later in the year.

Well, back to self bought Christmas gifts ---- I am buying a small penis pendant necklace.

I have always loved the holiday season. I spend three week decorating my 1200 sq. condo with four Christmas trees and several dozen hand carved Santa Clauses. I enjoy entertaining and cooking anytime of the year and go all out during December. Last Monday evening I had two of my favorite escorts/friends over for a full prime rib dinner. Tomorrow night I'm having thirty guests for lasagna, spinach salad, roasted vegetables, antipasto and garlic bread, naturally there will also be lots of Christmas cheer. Christmas Eve is my orphan’s party for friends who don't have family of other friends with whom to spend the evening. This year there will about twenty of us for beef stroganoff, egg noodles, old fashioned string beans, and mixed green salad, again more Christmas Cheer. In my condo complex live three very elderly ladies who have no families so the four of us share a small Christmas turkey at my place at noon on Christmas day. Damn, damn, damn I DO LOVE this time of year.

For the first time this year I DID buy myself a Christmas present. I have NEVER been a big cellphone fan and have been using a prepaid flip top phone for years. Last week I went out and bought myself the latest version of the LG smartphone. I’m having lots of fun trying to learn how do use the damn thing as I the worst techie in the world.

I sincerely wish all a wonderful, safe and joyous holiday season AND be sure to have lots of fun.

30 guests, in a 1200 sq.ft. condo? You're exceeding Fire Code!

Having been the recipient of hospitality similar to yours for many years, I must admit reading this brought tears to my eyes.

You bring hope to my ever darkening view of the Goodness that humanity once had.

I agree, and raise my glass in a symbolic toast to you sir. The many years that I was alone, had it not been for the kindness of people like yourself, I would have spent Christmas staring at the four walls of my adobe. I am always surprised to see how many people need a place to call home during this time of year.

To the fine gentlemen from England who started this thread and who has been a fine contributor to many discussions. Please stop picking up the bait that is being thrown out there for you to pick up. You only marginalize yourself in the process.

So very well said. Wherever it is that the fine gentleman from England decides to hang his hat this Christmas season, I hope that you find good freinds, good cheer, and a warm hearth. Buy yourself whatever the fuck you desire, cause you deserve it. If by some chance we do not see you around these parts, just know that I enjoyed your stay, however brief.

I haven't read the entire thread, just the very beginning and the last page, so I've probably missed out on some drama. Shucks! (Not really.) What I will say on the original topic is that while I don't buy myself expensive presents -- I'm allergic to buying expensive anything, pretty much -- I do buy myself presents because I know exactly what I want.

I tend to overdose on the whole gift buying and exchanging thing during the holidays. Too many sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc. aaaaghh... when does it end!? The last thing I want to do is buy another gift, even if it’s for myself. But I DO occasionally buy myself something special for my birthday. It's usually something delicious and exciting that those listed above never get to know about. Oh, I love those special birthday gifts.
