I wasn't going to bring this up, but the gossip item in Hooboy's mail bag today brought it to mind.

I confess that the hate mail sent to a local escort in the gossip item mentioned today involves people I don't know, and certainly the circumstances are unknown to me as well. But there is a reason I took note of it;

 

Recently, a visiting escort to our area had the same kind of treatment from an anonymous local escort when he arrived. I read the message and was saddened to think that any local escorts were so proprietorial that one of them would go out of his way to make a guest feel so unwelcome and indeed use threatening language to suggest a physical reprisal if the visiting escort didn't cancel plans to visit.

 

So, I have a few questions for everyone, escort and client alike (as well as all of the tech gurus here):

 

Have any of you seen this kind of thing before?

 

Escorts, have you had any experiences like this and what do you do in a case like this? The message was hardly a joke, it was serious.

 

Tech gurus, are there any methods for identifying the originator of the message? If so, what are the steps that can and should be taken.

 

I realize that the escort/ client relationship is market driven and that any weirdo can generate an email. Does it concern escorts in general that this kind of thing can give a city a bad name when it comes to a planned visit?

 

I put this in the lounge rather than ask an escort because I felt the questions were for everyone.

 

If the visiting escorts is upset with me for exposing this occurrence, I apologize. But I think this is important enough to open it for discussion.

Well, guys, it's happened again. This psycho, who claims to be an L.A. escort is giving local escorts a very bad RAP. I would venture to guess that this guy doesn't have a full grasp of his faculties if he thinks that this kind of thing is going to increase his business. If anything , it may cause those of us who live in L.A. to avoid hiring locally to make sure we don't get this psycho by mistake.

 

I am disappointed that I never got a response public or private from any tech guys, local clients or even escorts. I am sure you all had good reasons, but their obviousness escapes me now.

 

As the home of the original Hooligans, L.A. is getting a bad reputation for visiting escorts, and I ask those of you who are escorts, does this happen when you travel? and if so, how does it make you feel?

I agree we need to find out immediately the identity of the escort who is making these threats . . . . because he sounds hot!! You have any pictures of him? Threats of physical reprisals in order to protect his territory - doesn't get much hotter than that. It's so Sopranos.
