+ honcho
I had one cancelling a date because his ex boyfriend beat him up. And he sent me a selfie of his beaten face. I may still meet him in the next days. How truly *awful*. I'm grateful that you brought that insight to the discussion, but there's no way in hell that I can "like" that such things happen, nor make jokes about it. + goosh69 and LoveNDino

SROSFanboy
Well I decided to take the plunge and pay the $80 upgrade for one month's access on the site - and one thing I'm finding out now that I can message these guys back and forth is that a lot of them (most of them, actually) had no clue that it costs SD's that much to even view their messages. They think they're being rudely ignored. So that was an eye-opener. I will say, though, that the subject of money does not seem to come up easily with most of them, which I suppose, in the interest of civility and getting to know someone, is good form, but you *know* that eventually it will come up in conversation...Some of the guys do seem much less "mercenary" than others, though... I'll confess, I signed up for the free account months ago and deleted and blocked everyone who sent me a message or favorited me that didn't conform to what I said I was interested in. I wonder if they can tell that I did that. Not that it wouldn't be fine if they could.
SROSFanboy
The big problem with upgrading to read messages, I've found, is that I'm having a hard time keeping up with the correspondence, and God knows I can't be a benefactor to all of them. I've tried to narrow it down to communicating with just a few guys that are particularly interesting to me... I keep trying to remind myself, too, that these are not professionals, and that could spell certain problems that would not exist with a professional, experienced scort. + Keith30309
Over the last few weeks I noticed a huge increase in the number of notes from guys located in Columbia. I couldn't quite figure it out - there was never allot of notes from outside the US and most came from the Philippines or Malaysia. I just saw this article and it all makes sense... sad. When I texted "It is time for us to move on.", he replied "To where?" LOL I met a new guy at Starbucks today for grins. No chemistry but I offered to pay for his Uber and he asked me for $20 more for his time. I declined. This evening another 22-year old SA guy told me he was an escort and requested $500 for an hour of his time "just as long as there's no anal or anything" and asked if that was in my budget. I assured him it was not. + g56whiz, + goosh69, bigvalboy and 4 others

Have you tried filtering your messages? Frankly that's never worked for me the way I think it should, but you should be able to filter out messages from outside a range of miles. Of course is a Columbian guy puts your hometown in his profile.....won't work!! I've gotten really good at just deleting *anything* overseas, and 90% of any messages from profiles more than 1000 miles from me, the rest keep me busy. MikeBiDude
Not from South America (yes I'm getting those too) but from our very Midwest/heartland, a "flyover" state. "Hey, I'm not going to beat around the bush out of respect of eachother's time, I am in a hard place right now. I am a little over $3,000 away from being able to move to university. It is disheartening because I have gotten as far as I could by myself, graduating top of my class, getting my associates even before graduating high school, supporting myself financially, but there is just no further I can go towards my goals, living paycheck to paycheck. I am asking for a loan, you can set the interest and even organize some notarized contracts, we can talk on the phone, get to know eachother, I can provide identification documents, etc. Or another type of arrangement of interest to you. I do crave a relationship with someone older, that can offer me guidance, but just depends on how you connect with me. I am not asking for a hand out, but for someone to get to know me and invest in me." SROSFanboy
