Reminder here of a type of scam using gift cards that I warned a young man about...

He said a “sugar daddy” (could have been anyone, right?) was chatting him up with great hopes and expectations on both sides. Then the “daddy” suggested the boy “buy a Visa gift card, load it with $100 to ‘activate it’ take a picture of the card and send it to me so I can add dollars to it for you....”. Lucky for him, my naive young boy asked me about his idea before he did it. I gave him a firm “NO” and explained the scam! (Retro-affect, he says my helping him makes me more legit in his eyes )

So both sides of the SA paradigm...proceed with caution and open eyes.

PSA to those who use SA: it seems obvious but it may be helpful to remind the guys you have contact with to beware of scams.

I spent yesterday afternoon with a new guy having some fun but the noteworthy thing was what he told me about being scammed.

1) He was contacted by a potential Sugar Daddy (SD) and talked into buying two iphone X's... around $2200... and then be reimbursed when they met. He gave the guy his Verizon account number to make payment and held the phones. A few days later he saw a payment appear on his Verizon account online and dutifully shipped the 2 phones to the guy. A couple of weeks later he received a letter from Verizon that the payment had been reversed (I assume it was a bad check) and he's now been placed for collections.

2) He was contacted by another SD and convinced to buy, over the course of 3 months, iTunes cards and the SD was to pay his credit card bill. He was told that the guy, who was in Africa (!!!) could sell the iTunes numbers at a profit and he would share it with the SB. He bought small increments of cards, giving the numbers to the SD, and his credit card bill was actually paid in full the first month. He bought larger quantities and the credit card bill payments stopped. Ultimately he said he was taken for $11k and has been placed for collections.

These seem like incredibly stupid scams to have fallen for (especially more than once) but he, and some of the guys I meet, are naive, don't understand how credit works and eager to please a potential SD (in this guy's case it's compounded by the fact that English is his second language and he's in the US on a student visa).

A friendly reminder may make a big difference in someone's life.

I do not understand why the young kids would do that without knowing the people. I can't imagine coming across such nice young men then trying to cheat them. What kind of human being does that to another especially a young innocent man. Imagine the hate that a nice young man could develop over being hurt from another at such a young impressibable age.

This description made me chuckle:

"I'm looking for a sugar daddy who would bring me a luxury lifestyle with weekly allowance. I want to live like a celebrity. Though I'm not interested in any kinds of sex conducts."

it makes sense... all the way up to the last phrase.

Like I said....Category 3 = NO idea why they are on the site.

I don't think he understand the meaning of sugar daddy.

And they think someone will respond! Lmao

I agree with you @Oaktown and @freecahill1965 tho I know of several handsome, hard-bodied young men who want exactly that ("to live like a celebrity"). Whether models in LA, photographers in NYC and personal trainers in Sydney, they are all wannabes who disdain hard work and comitment and spend their time complaining about having to have sex with older men.

Got hit up on SA by a performer for Helix/8teenModel who, as it turns out, lives a few miles away. Holydamn scorching.

Unfortunately his idea of an allowance varies greatly from mine.

No, an ongoing FWB thing with a hefty expense.

If you want him @Keith30309 go for it and see how it works for you the first month. It's an arrangement: you are not obliged to renew the next month.

A few of the better looking young men on S.A. ( and there are many VERY attractive young men on S.A.), have requested arrangements, offering little time and few "services", but at a fee that surpass the cost of hiring my favorite porn star for a weekend.

When they get snarky about a fee like that that I tell them they need to understand the reality of the local market and what they’re trying to accomplish. If they get particularly snarky I send them links to a few local RM ads  to help their market research.

Most often I just kindly remark “looks like we aren’t a match after all”.

There are also MANY who are interested for far less than a regular provider....and still amazing looking and guess what...even nice guys! SA takes patience...

CORRECT.

As I stated....it's a FEW who are completely unrealistic about economic issues.

Overall I've met quite a few very nice young men, and so many that I've had the opportunity to take my time and search for that "perfect" match up in a committed companion.

Everyone has a backstory, and although many of these young college student types are interested in making something work....it just doesn't work for a variety of reasons in the long term.

So as with any relationship search you need to do a lot of weeding through.
