Russ in NY had a well written and very funny advertisement which was a major factor in my decision to hire him. That and a great body.

Well to each of us has his own preferences. This man has a great body. So right off the bat, he has the main quality I am seeking in an escort.

The rest of the advertisement and the attitude he exudes in the advertisement are enough to have me at least question his desirability as an escort.

In general, for an hour, a great body is enough.

If I am hiring for several hours, a great body and enthusiasm is enough. I have enough enthusiasm on my own to fill up an hour.

If I am hiring for an overnight, a great body, enthusiasm an engaging personality is enough.

I have never hired for long than an overnight, but to be rehired, I have to feel as though I have been sexually satisfied; that I have been impressed with the escorts physical presence and that I have been entertained by the escorts personality. I have met lots of people who are open, honest and willing to share compelling aspects of their (not they're there) who are not particularly intelligent.

Not at all. For me, if he has the body & looks I like, a masculine demeanor, and does what I need at least competently, he could be as dumb as a brick. I don't care at all.

For a one hour romp.. who cares? If he's hot, I'm down!

When hiring for an extended period or when "out of the bedroom" skills are required it's a different story.

Equating the inability to spell with "intellectual deficiency" is very common, but is as meaningful as equating ignorance with stupidity...

...I'm really forgiving when it comes to spelling and grammar because everyday English is in a state of orthographic and grammatical collapse. People don't know how to use who/whom, I/me, there/their/they're, ought/aught, were/we're/where, practice/practise, its/it's, and your American misspelling of colour, honour, and such amuses me to no end, but all that doesn't mean people are intellectually deficient. Lazy, yes. Ignorant, almost certainly.

Please forgive me if I've been preachy.

I think someone who advertises himself as an entrepreneur should be more careful and express himself in an honest and proper way, this also applies to escorts. I'm aware of the collapse of English because of texting, grammar and specially spelling could be a real nightmare when kids learning. I would recommend escorts to read before they click and send an email just to make sure the message (text or email) makes sense and is easy to read by the receiver.

"... your American spelling": What about the way yinz drive or write dates? Please let's be respectful, it's the same language a shared language, besides we have no hooligans this side of the Atlantic but I'm aware we have a lot of other issue.

Both his attitude and attention to detail are giant red flags that he finds his job and clients contemptuous. I would pass immediately.

Well, I certainly won't hire you! The correct word in this context is "contemptible," not "contemptuous.":)

(Actually, the number of spelling and grammar errors throughout this thread stimulate my urge to get out my red pencil, but I won't, because I don't think they are very important, since they do not interfere with anyone's comprehension of the points being made.)

Just in case anyone needs the reference:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curvature_of_Riemannian_manifolds

It's fun to read all the squiggly lines!

Equating the inability to spell with "intellectual deficiency" is very common, but is as meaningful as equating ignorance with stupidity.

There are many subjects of which I am almost completely ignorant, e.g., the curvature of Reimannian manifolds, which may be described using the curvature tensor given in terms of a Levi-Civita connection and Lie bracket:

461317856ee33357e6bacdd676c3efd5.png

I know little about this field, but that doesn't indicate intellectual deficiency on my part.

Similarly, few of you could pronounce "Gabh mo leithscéal, a dhuine chóir. An bhfuil Gaeilge agatsa?", let alone translate it. You're not intellectually deficient--ach, níl Gaeilge agaibh...is as Meiriceá sibh, is bocht a liom a rá libh. If you can...Dia duit! Is as Éirinn tusa. Conas atá tú?

I'm really forgiving when it comes to spelling and grammar because everyday English is in a state of orthographic and grammatical collapse.

I have four criteria when shopping: do I find him hot?...is he a nice guy?...will he do X with enthusiasm?...and, most importantly, what's the price point?

On the other hand, I don't think I could hire someone who was noticeably intellectually disabled, because it would feel like I was taking advantage of their disability. That happened once with a stripper at Flash in Toronto. Cute, really built, meaty cock, sweet, eager, but just a little bit beyond the "he ain't the sharpest tool in the woodshed" point. It brought out the protective daddy in me, and sexual desire just evaporated.

Please forgive me if I've been preachy.

We Brits cam be rather protective over the English language, but while I will continue to spell the British way I have to admit that the American way of spelling is often more logical e.g. color/colour. As long as we understand one another- "Suck my cock bitch" is universal!!

As a former high school English teacher, I gave up on perfect English usage long ago. I will say that with all the autocorrect features available, I am amazed at some of the errors posted electronically. Vis a vis escorts, if he can moan, groan and scream, I'm happy. If he can converse, I'm ecstatic. If he is intellectually challenging, I'm in love.

Well, this fellow fell victim to a disease which left him wheelchair bound and unable to

speak. A picture of the artist as a young man might be more pleasing:

And this was said about him:

While at Oxford, he coxed a rowing team, which helped ease his immense boredom at the university. His physics tutor, Robert Berman, later said "It was only necessary for him to know that something could be done, and he could do it without looking to see how other people did it. ... his mind was completely different from all of his contemporaries"

Methinks people have complained about the rapid decline of English proficiency for centuries. It is a very malleable language that is stripped of many of the rules of other languages such as the Germanic languages from which English is derived at least in part.

But confusing "are" for "or"? That's beyond the pale! :)

Well said and my thoughts exactly!

Referencing another point made elsewhere, has anyone ever come across an escort (or client for that matter) who appeared to have some organic brain disorder (being high doesn't count)? I met a guy several months ago via HOURBOY who just didn't seem 'right'. He was 100% functioning and living alone in an apartment, though his language skills were a little limited and seemed hindered (English was his only language). In thinking about it later I thought maybe it was a mild case of Aspergers but he was very physically affectionate and "touchy". He reminded me a little of someone I know who'd suffered a traumatic brain injury in an automobile accident.

What is the right thing to do if you encounter someone for an appointment and it's clear something isn't quite right?

I don't know, if Russ's ad had read, "Phat azz that want 'em dix, gib me 'em dix" I may have hired him a lot sooner :p
