The just-got-out-of-bed look just got a little quirkier. It looks comfortable, it certainly makes a statement. The calchemise is the latest early-adopter trend in mensclothing...in France, at least. With more than 1300 likes in less than a month, will the calchemise become the new must-have in men’s wardrobes?

Calchemise is the perfect combination of ‘caleçon’ - boxer shorts, and ‘chemise’ - shirt. This innovative onesie is already a success in France and plans to go worldwide. No more shirts draping out of trousers! The calchemise can be worn alone, as a statement piece, which is the most common trend in Paris, or with trousers, as a more classic shirt, which stays neatly in place.

The modern man’s onesie was created by a group of six friends, all of whom are engineers. The six Parisians began brainstorming in 2009 and today have a large range of designs for all tastes, all between €50 and €65. The Idea to harmoniously unite boxers and shirts arose from the problem men face when trying to keep a shirt tidily tucked in for the whole day, meeting after meeting. Calchemise has already tripled its sales objectives and new versions of it focus on altering the style of the collars and cuffs.

It's certainly more comfortable than the "ball cover bikini"... Remember?

This is more functional and approved by Mormons too.

Hmmmm - did the Mormons approve that quick-access flap on the butt?

It's a little hard to believe that men walk around Paris wearing what is basically an adult onesie. I do see the advantages of the calchemise, though. It must be nice to wear a shirt without ever worrying that it'll come undone during the day. Not saying that I'd run out and buy one, but I can see their appeal.

PS: if you ever see me running around in public wearing an adult onesie, call the men in the white jackets and butterfly nets, because I have clearly lost my mind.

It looks to me like it must be worn baggy fit under trousers, or it would "ride up" every time you raised your arm and you would spend the whole day digging it out of your ass crack. Worn without pants, it just looks lame, and getting a boner would be "hard" to hide. I'll pass. These fabulous French models do nothing for me in their onesies, 'Nuff said!

On its own it's just ghastly. I would have to wear underwear under it or my dick would keep falling out, so it doesn't eliminate the need of wearing underwear.

Under pants, however it is not a terrible idea. A shirt that stays tucked for the whole day? Sounds practical but terribly uncomfortable, unless you are into things riding up your crack for the whole day.

Those french! When they get it right, they get it right, but when they don't...

Your dick would keep falling out? Please try it just to make sure, and post a video of the experiment with plenty of close ups. Just in the interest of fashion, of course! Thank you!

Ty @marylander1940 ! You brought a memory to mind about shirts and perfect fits. Uncle Carlos, my gay uncle (doesn't everyone have one? ;)) used to host grand parties at his house, and he was the de rigueur weekend night stop before the gay guys in the community would go bar-hopping. As a kid, I would sit by the main staircase near the front door to observe all the men that came in and out of the house. Without exception, when they came in, they would check themselves in the body-length mirror to ensure their shirts were tucked in just so. And when they would leave, they would meticulously tug and pull for that perfect look. I'm not sure what that was, but I remember the more attractive the guy, the more they played with shirt fit.

As I came out of the closet and my Uncle Carlos helped me and the rest of the family "cope," he took me under his wing and introduced me to all sorts of amazing men. Doctors, artists, engineers, politicians....they all tucked in their shirts just so. I grew to love his friends and to ask all sorts of questions of them. The question I never asked him or his friends was "why do the shirts need to fit just so?"

I owe Uncle Carlos my very sane, inclusive and untortured teens. When he died, I remember his wake and funeral were attended by what seemed to be thousands of people from all walks of life...people who could not stop talking about his support and mentoring. There he laid in that ornate coffin, in his favorite grey suit. The last thing I did for Uncle Carlos was to pull and tug on his shirt just so for that last & perfect fit.

I guess if you were into diaper play this would be a natural companion piece to go out in the world

Wait a second.

What if you have to go to the bathroom... the sit-down kind.

It looks like you have to unbutton the whole thing from the top down, pulling it off your shoulders and pulling it down. The you basically have your shirt around your ankles.

What if your need is urgent. This could be a recipe for disaster.

I'm not so sure the form/function equation is balanced here.
