Glennn, I like two blocks from The Barnes Foundation and 10 blocks from the Philadelphia Museum of Art. New York City also has first class museums, as do many other American cities.

 

Sorry! I didnt mean to denigrate America or its museums. I have visited most of them. I should have been clear that i meant that the giant depictions of nude men on the outside of an American museum would likely cause much consternation and distress, where in much of Europe, as in Vienna, it is more readily accepted.

To really see 20 century Austrian art, you would have to visit the two best museums in Vienna (Belvedere Palace and the Leopold Museum).

 

But New York does have Austrian art at the Museum of Modern Art and especially the Neue Galerie. The Galerie is relatively small, but always has special exhibits and, best of all, two wonderful restaurants than serve Austrian food and drink! Check it out, @glennnn.
