Check out http://www.flashonchurch.com/ I was there in April, Had a great time.

all type guys , the guys come out, dance on main stage, for a few songs, then move to the 2nd floor bar , dance another song or 2,

then you chat work things out rent a room for $10 , plus whatever you and dancer agree on.

website says have to buy membership. but if u just act mature, and tip the door man everything will work out well.

It was the only bar I went to.

Membership simply amounts to giving your name and paying the cover.

To my knowledge there are two Toronto clubs, Flash and Remingtons. Remingtons has a downstairs and upstairs, downstairs is geared towards the ladies, while upstairs is guys only. Remington is a little nicer atmoosphere-wise, dancers I found to be a tad better looking. But, they were expensive for drinks and while definitely looser than most anywhere else, there were a bit more aloof. I didn't know there was any negotiation on prices - $10 for the room and I think $20 a song. Need to do a few before you get anywhere.

Flash was more of a bar, the dancers tended to be a bit more working the trade shall we say? Although I personally had no problems saying not interested, and they they would move on. Flash seems a little more cut to the chase, but somehow felt more comfortable to me.

I've still never been to Flash. One of these years maybe I'll get back up to TO. I used to go several times a year when the C$ was cheap and flights were next to nothing. Remington's used to be amazing in the late 90s when I visited frequently. Last time I was there a couple of years ago it was still fun but not as fun and definitely more expensive. The cubicles upstairs used to only be $2 and for a while it was $10/song! $20/song means you really need to pay attention. But on my last visit I would usually tell the guy I was planning to do 4 or 5 songs or whatever so things would heat up much more quickly. I was very smitten with one particular guy who was happy to let me to do what I most wanted to do. As with anywhere some guys are more friendly than others. And my axiom about the least-attractive-to-me dancers being the ones who spent the most time chatting me up has always held true there.

Obviously things could have changed in the time since I was last there. I frequently have stayed at what used to the Delta Chelsea, then Eaton Chelsea, and now apparently just called the Chelsea Hotel which is literally right across the street from Remingtons which was extremely convenient. And I think that's part of the reason I never ventured much elsewhere.

From a comment at the end of that article:

"As the GM of Remington's I would like to thank everyone for their support and comments. I would also like to let you know that the earliest something may or may not occur at our current location is October 2018. We are the only licensed all male strip club located in Toronto. Flash is not licensed and I won't discuss their situation. Remington's is looking at options for it's continued future past October 2018. And for the record the internet is not the reason, nor is the so called access to escorts. This is an all male strip club, not an escort brothel like Flash is. We cater to everyone, men and women, matter of fact we hosts 1000's of bachelorettes year round. Come on a Saturday night and see the long line ups we have outside. We are known throughout the world and considered the gold standard when it comes to the men stripping on stage. Not to mention Remington's Men of Steel has been award the Best Bar None accreditation two years in a row."

So it sounds like it will be around a while. But it makes me more interested in visiting Flash. Frankly the bachelorettes have ruined a lot of the atmosphere of the old Remington's. But I don't begrudge them following the money.

In defense of Remington's, there are two levels: mixed crowd on the main floor and men only upstairs (except for the private booth area). I'm not sure if that is a disincentive or not though LOL.

I like men only clubs. When I go out to a male strip club, I only want to see hot men (no women please).

I was at Spunk in NYC the other night and had my eye on a particular dancer... he spent a lot of time flirting with the women which caused me to lose interest.

  • 2 weeks later...

I used to go to Remington's in the 80's. I lived close to the border and Toronto was 25 minutes by air. It was in the most depressing time of the AIDS epidemic. It was impossible to shake the funereal mood that pervaded gay life in the US. Then I discovered that I could just board a plane and be in Toronto in less than a half hour. At Remington's they were dancing and partying as though it were still 1978. There was a bath house, forgot the name, where you could walk the halls and hear cries of "Fuck me again!!" with the odor of poppers hanging heavy in the air. It was great grief therapy.
