Possibly because he is not actually an escort but another poster pulling your legs.

@Jock123 has been posting for over 2 years & still hasn't provided a link to his ad. :(

Exactly. I think he's a nice guy. I understand his reticence because he's fearful about exposure. With that said I've given up trying to meet him... if I already haven't and didn't know it. :p

His loss. LOL! :D

Who can say for sure... but this backpage escort ad sure has a similar look to his profile picture ;)

I find that sometimes the signature link is there but my mobile device eliminates it. Sometimes just the axis orientation. Really agree that the link is essential.

Take your phone off portrait view and you will see the signature links and such.

Hugs,

Greg

As much as I love meeting new people, I PRAY that I'm able to retire way before 35. Honestly(In my opinion) I dont even see this being a lucrative business in 10+ years. Escorting isnt what it use to be, even In a few short years, I can only Imagine another 10 years from now.

Could you please explain how it has changed? I'm just starting out, so I'm interested in knowing how things are changing.

BTW: When I tried to add the link to my rentmen ad, I get an error message saying:

"Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements."

I guess because I am new...

It's the 'world's oldest profession' for a reason: I don't think it's in danger of going away anytime soon.

Escorting is what you make of it: The clientele and the money are still there.

Yeah, I'm getting the same error message. Who knows how to make this work?

I Disagree. "Escorting is what you make of it". You can be hot, fit, have accurate pictures, be personable, reliable etc etc etc ....and the pay can be shit. Its not a matter of work ethic either. I've worked my ass off more than ever and the money has declined. New clients are far and few. What was once the "Holy Grail" of meeting some hot, young guy... is now watered down. I believe this has ALOT to do with the rise of Apps. Why pay for something when you can get it for free? Not to mention society is moving Into Virtual Reality technology. I believe this will also cause a dip in new clients. Soon we will have human like robots to hook up with, at home...for cheap. ALSO the Goverment has stuck Its Head into It...I.E the shutdown of Rentboy. Making some potential clients paranoid.

I have read and commented on COUNTLESS threads by Escorts asking why business Is slow, They are getting trolled more than ever by people who arent serious etc. People will make plans with you only to cancel...and not even give You the courtesy of TELLING YOU they are cancelling(Basically just not responding to texts/emails etc). I think this has alot to do with our Text culture. We are becoming dismissive of each other.

Sure there will always be a need. As you said It's the "Oldest Profession". But I do believe there will be a decline In Rates(Which is great for you clients) also for others to be more compettive.

I'm sure In NYC its extremely Lucrative. LOTS of Foreigners and Business people In and out of the city who prefer Discretion. Also speaking of Discretion...that is another thing that's changed. I'm sure 10+Years ago Escorts were in high demand..most being from men wanting to keep their sexual preference on the down low. NOW being gay isnt so taboo. Thus allowing more people to be open.

These are just my observations. But I really dont see it being LUCRATIVE 10 years from now. Sure as a part time job, easy way to make a quick buck(Like being an Uber Driver). But not something Full time for alot of people.

To be fair though, it also has somewhat to do with putting yourself out there. This is not a knock on you because I understand why you aren't advertising the way some working guys are.

However, if I wanted to hire @Benjamin_Nicholas I know exactly where I can see his ad. If I asked him on this forum to point me to his ad or where he is located... there is a link to his personal site in his signature and I'm sure he wouldn't mind telling me where he is or his travel plans. :)

Many of us have attempted to hire you... to find out where you are... etc., etc. I'm sure you would have had more regulars (at least from the forum) if you gave some clue about where to find or contact you. As the topic of this forum post states... "help me find you." :p

You can copy your text and paste here, so someone can help you find which content is inappropriate.

Now it works. My guess is that either

1. I needed to participate in the forum first

2. I needed to put something in my signature other than a link to an external site...so all I had to do was also brag about my cooking skills in addition to putting a link, LOL

Oh, There isnt a doubt In my mind that I'd have a few of You as Regulars. From what I've seen(As you can tell I'm very Observant) alot of You guys are an Escorts dream. Great energy, alot of charisma and most Importantly seem to show respect for those In the business.

I agree. Increased acceptance and visibility have reduced demand for paid encounters. Whether temporary or not, I don't know, but sscorting seems to have had a very lucrative golden era bookended by the rise of the internet and the rise of eolocation mobile hookup apps. The internet was a revolution for safety and availability and the effective end of street hustling, and 2015's gay marriage ruling and Rentboy shutdowns effectively ended that revolution.

So if you were a even somewhat-desirable escort whose physical heydey started around or shortly after Bill Clinton's re-election, you probably made a crap ton of money for a good while. I know retired at 38 last year, with a modest cottage in the Hollywood Hills. He's now finishing up school and will be able to have a second career, but on his terms because he's already financially comfortable for life.

I don't know if his career is going to be possible for non-porn or relatively average escorts starting out recently or now. Business does seem to be down for most (not all). I know some *very* good escorts with the in-demand all-American chiseled white boy look, and they are struggling to adjust the comfrotable lifestyles they'd become accustomed to in the Obama years to this new landscape.

I think the business model to stay lucrative will change a bit. I don't think streetwalking will make a big comback, but escorts will have to travel and be more mobile to find new clients, figure out how to exploit the apps, sign onto agencies, get back into hustling in bars, and work harder to cultivate regulars and long term client relationships. This gravity may eventually bring down rates, unless so many guys keep dropping out that competition is reduced. But I think the days of logging in and just having client after client after client drop into your lap are finished.

A fellow escort I was hooking up with casually saw this coming this a couple years back and complained about it to me one night while cuddling. Shortly after, he told me we could no longer hookup: he snagged an engagement to a very wealthy celebrity. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It really does make me sad. I think of when I first started and how care free, fun It use to be. It was VERY rare for someone to cancel. Actually alot of potential clients would keep reaffirming our meeting until It literally happened. NOW its like pulling teeth. "Send more pics" "Stats?" "Into?" or my Favorite "What do I get for the money" only to have them cancel mere seconds before You are to meet these days.

It has nothing to do with being In shape, age, reliability etc etc etc. The Fact is times are changing. I'm sure Its still Lucrative for some guys but....Not even close to what It use to be for most of us.
