It is really sad how such a great gathering place and resource can fall apart so quickly. Between banishing Tri, who worked so hard to provide so much (and has changed so many peoples' lives--everybody at the gatherings is either going to Rio or wants to) and the way that most escorts who posted have been allowed to be forced out (making the MC somewhat pointless given it's main subject matter) I just don't see the use anymore, so I'm leaving like so very many before me.

 

If you do turn it off please do everybody a favor and leave it off until you can find some fresh blood/energy to run it with.

 

Where do all the ex-hoovillians go? I too have decided to leave the message center. I'll be coming by to read the reviews however the forums hold no purpose for me anymore. I do not like to be censored nor do I want people who I disagree with to be censored.

 

As I mentioned and James notes I've setup a community for other Hooviller's who have had enough of the heavy handed tactics in this MC. I'm not saying that those responsible are bad people in my mind they simply have let their authority go to their head.

 

The community I setup is a place like this once was. Non-moderated and open to everyone and every idea regardless of my personal views.

 

I set up the community out of my frustration here. You're all invited to post there if you want.

What escorts have been "forced out"? Most of the escorts who've always posted (except ones who retired, like Devon) still post (some, like Hagen, maybe not as regularly as before, but he's still here), as well as new escorts who began posting in recent weeks. Greg from Seattle is posting more lately, and has made some fun contributions. The only escort who doesn't seem to post anymore is Benjamin Nicholas...he hardly represents "most escorts."

 

I have been posting here on the MC since its inception, and we have gone through periods like this before. People come and go, and the community changes, but it goes on. I don't see this period as any different. If there is indeed a "break" coming, things will get back to normal when its done. And it better be done fast, because I go through withdrawal.

 

P.S. This is just Rick. I am using this name because "Rick Munroe" has 4,999 posts and I still want to drag it out a bit further before I post # 5,000. Just to be a pain in the ass (as long as ass is involved, I'm happy).

This message center used to be completely unmoderated until some bad seeds started posting people's (e.g., clients') real names, phone numbers, etc. From my recollection, that was when HooBoy decided to go with moderation and the creation of rules. How do you propose to protect people's privacy on your site the way this one does?

I can think of about a dozen who sometimes attended Hooville gatherings and aren't posting now. They either stopped or never started because of the extreme nastiness they'd received or seen others receive. So I must disagree with your assertion that most are still here. Seen a post from Franco lately? I'm confident that dozens of less memorable wars have shoved many less prolific former 'working' posters out, and worse, kept many more from ever participating.

 

But I'm not here to argue the point, I'm here to post a link for all in the LA area who would like to keep in touch through whatever happens here, because frankly there were already several "LA Hoovillians" who weren't going to step 'foot' in here ever again.

But if that's the case, we still get new ones who join up and start posting...such as Scott Adler, Jason Stewart, and others (I'm bad at remembering names). Then deej, maddened by the use of his power banned such posters as taylorky, EthantheDCEBoy aka Erik McAlister, and even me, your beloved BewareofNick for no other reason besides the fact that we dared to disagree with him and not back down from it.
