I have to admit, I enjoy lurking "over there" too. I actually registered, but have yet to post anything.

It's become the Ying to this site's Yang. And this is sad, because having to flip between sites to get the whole experience one used to be able to get here is just plain tiresome, and not worth the effort.

This message board has become inane since the division, no doubt about it. Onefinger has single-handedly (or single-fingeredly?) and valiantly tried to keep it interesting, but one can only take so many vapid (sorry, UnDigit!) pics culled from Cyberspace before one feels his time is better spent waxing the furniture.

Likewise, the other place is equally flat in it's uniform tyranny of meanness. The senseless destruction is thrilling at first, of course. But without any balance, it just becomes a dull, nasty hum, like a nearby nest of hornets.

I hope that one day soon the voices on both boards will become integrated again, because right now neither one is of much interest.

Very nicely said Trix. I agree that both sites can become very tedious when they are exclusively Ying or Yang (to borrow your words.) It will be interesting to see how things develop.

The problem is that, under the current rules, the other site is the only one that has a hope of achieving any kind of balance. That may sound strange considering the current tenor over there, but that site CAN calm down if the members CHOOSE to do so. They can also post fluffier stuff if they choose to do so.

However, as long as this board is held hostage to the “Alert” button, (with a Church Lady’s gloved finger poised over it, ready to summon the authorities whenever she sees something that offends her delicate sensibilities) I don’t see how this place can ever be as spirited as it once was. No one is going to take the time to engage in a debate -- polite or otherwise -- if their speech gets censored and they are chastised like children.

Oh well, all good things come to an end.

Certainly is nice of you to try and spin OneFinger's posts as something that they are not. He is single handedly putting the entire readership into a vast expanding coma from which we may never awake.

Always interesting to hear another perspective. Here's one for you. Before the split, many of the posters that founded the "Mean Girls Club" argued amongst each other constantly over here. We've achieved a sense of unity that we never had over here. (And no, VaHawk doesn't count as he simply argues with everyone)

OK, I went back and here is the post to which I referred. If you think it is mean, I'm sorry. I think it's hysterical:

:>Buzzard, you must leave metaylor alone. The poor thing has a serious condition and all of the harassment could only make it worse. Little did you know that metaylor was born in the country and unfortunately his mother could not make it to a doctor. A midwife was called in and the poor woman accidentally threw out the child and kept the after-birth. When the mother realized what had happened she was horrified and called in Doug69s father. None other than the famous Dr. Frankenstein. He had much experience after having built Doug69 by putting various road kill together around that snake’s brain. The good doctor was able to breath life into the after-birth and hence we have metaylor. Unfortunately, the lightening was a bit strong and burned out much of the rat brain he used and hence we have the demented metaylor. His poor mom was destitute after the cost of this venture and continues to ply the roads as a #### until this day. Some of you may know her. She uses the name woodlawn. A pathetic wench she is.<:

Just to throw in a few facts.....

There have been 47 Alerts since 6/1 of which Coop or I acted on 2.

The majority of those Alerts came from posters who are not "Church Ladies".

On 7/13 in the Deleted Posts thread on the EZboard site Woodlawn2 posted: "FA, you and Chgo are both valued contributors here. We should not be fighting among ourselves while The Dickless Ones at M4M look on with amusement. We should present a united front." Funny that neither of the "valued contributors" are still posting there. But you've certainly been following the directive. That site is no "Mean Girls Club". You're no Cady Heron (nor are you Hawkeye Pierce). The site could be much more than it is, but as it is now, it resembles the Borg hive.

Woodlawn2 reprogramming ChgoBoy; but a failed attempt. This could happen to you, too, if you fail to follow the directive:

BoN, sorry but you don't speak for me.

The fact is, that you are welcome to argue with each other over here as far as I am concerned.

Just don't argue with me. heheh. Do as I say, not as I do.

Frankly, if the choice is, be virulent and hateful or be a hypocrite, then I choose Hypocrite gladly.

While there's no question that you have chosen the latter, the former was not your only choice. You are simply afraid of "the Mean Girls Club" because there is not a Daddy to protect you gossamer thin feelings.

Afraid??? really? And you got this idea from what pray tell? There aren't any girls here , mean or otherwise that I am afraid of, so bring it on sister.

In fact, I have it on good authority that you have chickened out of every real world meeting that you have ever set up. What could it be that you are afraid of? hmmmm? :D

Really?

Hmmm ... that's the M.O. of another well-known message board troll.

Some things really do make ya go HMMMMMMMMMM.

Really? So not only are you a hypocrite, you are a liar. I can think of only one real world meeting that I was unable to make due to work and that was to meet someone from here at DragonCon in Atlanta. In fact, I have already told that person that I need to make it up to him this year. As for anything else, you are simply lying. Isn't that against the Church Ladies' Credo?

Wow! You've discovered me! Though it has been a year or more since someone made the allegation of me being "He Who Shall Not Be Named". Then again, to quote Forest Gump, stupid is as stupid does.

Indeed. Thank you for being living proof of that truism.

Lies and Damn lies

BoNer

If what I said was a lie, I wouldn't have said it. I HAVE been told you have chickened out of real world meetings, that is not a lie. Whether I was lied to is a different story. Careful, calling someone a liar who is telling the truth , well, tsk tsk, we church ladies simply cannot have that.

And why are you so touchy about this subject anyway? }(

Could it be that there is some truth in what I was told? :o

Hey, Barry - why pretend to give facts if what you are really doing is distorting them in order to mislead people?

You gave facts about the deletion activities of you and "Coop" - but there is another person here who can delete and edit posts as well. He's the person you and certain other "adults" here refer to as "Daddy".

How many posts has "Daddy" deleted or edited in the past 6 weeks. How many threads has he locked? How many detention "warnings" has he sent?

Why pretend that this site barely ever censors by saying that you and "Coop" do it rarely, but then omit the deletion and editing activities of the person you call your "Daddy"?

And finally, how many people here have kneeled down and, with their most pathetic child-like voice, said: "Thank you, Daddy" after he deleted, edited or warned?

I think not. Someone like BoN, who has for years maintained a website for the purpose of warning about a hustler with a long history of ripping off gay men, is hardly likely to be of cowardly temperament.

"There are no fools so troublesome as those who have energy."

Goethe is so pithy, don't you agree? :)

Then perhaps you would care to share names as to whom is perpetuating this myth? Other than duke37 and going to dragoncon, it's never happened. I still maintain you are lying. Time to put up or shut up, dear.

RE: Lies and Damn lies

Websters:

Entry Word: lying

Function: adjective

Text: telling or containing lies <the lying reporter was fired for making up details in his stories.

Sorry to disappoint you, but my statement doesn't qualify under the above definition. I am not lying. Now, as to whether I am going to wither under your insistence that I out my sources? Not a chance. The number of times you have come here with outlandish claims and never made good on proof. Well, let's just say sauce for the goose. ;(
