Visiting Stag/SilveradoPDX with mixed group..help!

visiting pdx next weekend for pre wedding gathering of mostly out of towners visiting frm Wash. about a dozen folks, mostly gay but handful of straight guys and gals. as designated social chair i'm helping wth plans on fun pdx strip clubs. any guidance on dos/donts for girls joining our stops at Stag or Silverado? fwiw, talking about +/-4 girls. not obnoxious but fun enough to probably enjoy partaking in lap dance or 2 (yes, i've already told 1 that if either place requires a male escort i'd graciously volunteer 2 help out;)

 

thanks 4 any tips or advice in helping 2 spare us being unwelcome out of towners!

@pdxleo may be able to offer advice.....or you could call each club at quiet times of the day and ask what the protocol is....

Both bars will be fun. They're located about 7-8 blocks apart. You definitely see women at both establishments, throughout the week, but Silverado is more explicitly a "gay bar;" they don't allow costumes (such as bridal outfits) and they don't allow screaming. In general, my impression is that they want to avoid the stereotypical bridal shower: a large group of loud straight women taking over a gay space. But if your companions are discreet and willing to tip, I'm sure everyone will have a good time.

 

I don't mean to stereotype all straight women, but the issue I sometimes perceive when a group of cis het women is in a gay bar is that they sometimes feel strange being in a bar where the attention isn't focused on them, so they ratchet up their behavior to make themselves more noticeable.

Agreed- a bachelorette group with tiaras and sashes will not fare well in either club, but as long as the noise is kept to a dull roar you should not have any issues. The announcer at either club will certainly call you out if the ladies get out of hand. Be sure to bring some dollar bills- the local ladies are notoriously stingy with the greenbacks, so some tipping will go a long way towards interactions with the guys on and off stage. And, a tip to the bartender early on can make a big difference in the quality of service as the night goes by!

during my one-and-only visit to both clubs last August (2017), I sensed that Stag was the "funner" of the two and that women were more comfortable there.....Stag seemed more friendly, intimate, and neighborhood-y than Silverado, which seemed somewhat cavernous and uninspired......

 

but that was just one weeknight during one visit to PDX......
